They competed and hosted the first ever Minnesota State (now known as the Midwest Regional) Show Ski Tournament on Phalen Lake in St Paul
The team moved to Buffalo Lake where they began having regular shows throughout the summer and featured an announcer who developed a storyline,
The team moved their permanent ski site to the Mississippi River and took their current name, the “Twin Cities River Rats”.
The team won the Midwest Regional Show Ski Tournament, and went to the National Show Ski Tournament for the first time ever.
The Rats moved to their current site, just south of the Broadway Bridge
The team hosted a benefit show for the 35W bridge collapse with all proceeds going to the US Red Cross. In just one show, they raised over $35,000!
Record numbers of crowds and award-winning tournament finishes marked only the beginning of success for the team!
